Meet your teachers

Sally Richmond

Sally Richmond (MA, BSW) is a mindfulness teacher, coach and registered Social Worker. She has studied and learnt ancient well-being practices including Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, breath-work, mindfulness and meditation for over 30 years. Through her exploration and consistent practice over many years, Sally personally knows the transformative power of applying these practices to nourish the body, mind and spirit.

Sally has a lifelong dedication to enhancing health and optimising well-being for personal and community transformation. She has worked in health and human services for more than 25 years. Sally teaches mindfulness courses integrating mindfulness practices and the latest science on the regulation of the nervous system. These foundational practices include gentle movement, mindfulness meditation, connecting with nature and self-compassion. They support the restoration of health, healing and growth.

In her courses, Sally teaches a range of mindfulness practices through experiential learning. She offers a range of tools and practical guidance in a way that empowers people to explore what works best for them and their own body/mind. As Jon Kabat-Zinn says "people are their own geniuses, if we let them."

Sally is a registered social worker and current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Arts from RMIT.

Additionally, Sally has also studied and completed comprehensive meditation teacher training with the Meditation Training Institute of Australia and New Zealand. She is a fully trained and registered meditation teacher.

With her continued dedication to learning and growth, Sally engages in regular retreats and peer supervision. Seeing many people in her classes who have experienced the long-lasting impacts of trauma, Sally is currently training with the Polyvagal Institute and brings a trauma-informed perspective to her work.

In our stressed-out world, Sally is a passionate advocate for more nourishing ways of being to enhance health for people, communities and the planet.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners, the Boon Wurrung people, as the custodians of this land and whose sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present.
